So, here he is! Little Clifford all grown up to be Clifford the Big Red Dog! This is the piece I created last week for Colour Collective and the chosen colour was 'Fire Truck Red' which was perfect for me to continue Clifford's adventures.
Today's Princess is Mulan! Mulan is such a badass and is probably one of my favourites on reflection, heh heh. I didn't actually see that much Mulan merch when I was in WDW so I suppose she's a little underrated. Are you a Mulan fan?
Last weeks Colour Collective! The selected colour was 'Cyan Blue Azure'. I decided to draw Clifford as a puppy - he was one of the smallest puppies ever born! Next week, I'll have the adult Clifford to show you.
Here is last weeks Colour Collective piece! The chosen colour was 'Corn'. I'd been wanting to draw some ducks/geese for a little while and the colour palette just sort of worked out! I think the corn colour works really well on the hats and wheat. Overall, this was one of my favourite weeks!
I'm sure you've all heard a little bit about the importance of protecting our native bee population and encouraging bees to thrive! Bees have lost much of their natural habitat in the past 60 years, but thankfully there are some easy things we can all do at home to help them. 1. You can try planting the right type of flowers in your garden, or if you don't have too much space you could pop some plant pots on your patio! Bees are particularly fond of lavender, tulips, honeysuckle and peony, as well as all sorts of native wildflowers. 2. Provide a fresh water source. Any shallow water source is suitable! You can try adding some small stones to a bird bath so that bees can easily land! 3. Do not use pesticides or other chemicals in your garden. I suppose this is an obvious one, but pesticides are toxic to bees and other pollinators. If you want to attract bees, make sure you're creating a safe environment for them! I know this isn't a comprehensive list by any means, but it's a good starting point, and if you'd like to find out a little more you can visit the Friends of the Earth site which has a whole lot more information.
This was last weeks Colour Collective illustration just incase you didn't spot it on Twitter. The chosen colour was 'Aubergine' which I struggled with initially, but then thought it would be the perfect villainous background for Ursula!
Today's princess is the beautiful Tiana from The Princess and the Frog! I just love her lily pad dress. I wanted to try and capture the mood of the bayou in this illustration so I hope that comes across!
Here is last weeks Colour Collective! The chosen colour was 'Tangerine' so my boyfriend suggested that I draw a Golden Lion Tamarin. We saw some of these in Florida and they were just the sweetest things in the world. Such tiny faces!
